Jcpenney - Frustrated and Grumpy

To return items that you have ordered on line through their web site, you have to pay for the shipping. Of course they say you can return to a JCPenny store for free, but that can take up to 2 HOURS. First if I had a JCPenny store convenient and close I would shop there and save myself all this frustration. Second. why do I want to wait around a store, I will no longer shop at, for 2 HOURS to get a return.

Unfortunately, the credit dept takes forever to fully process refunds. Some take over a month, and of course, they only do them on business days, not weekends.

I work for Macy's as well as Jcpenny (I know, I'm brave!) & I can assure you Macy's does the same thing all the time. A lot of our items are placed on backorder & take a while to ship. The tracking info sent to your e-mail should show you the exact details.

Jcpenney - Bad Customer Service

I placed an order on Thanksgiving Day 2017 and received a shipping confirmation for all my items, but I never received one of the items. I called customer service as there is NO OTHER way to contact JCPenney which is horrible! There needs to be an email and chat instead of just calling especially during the holiday season. I called 3 times and total of all 3 times I was on hold over 3 hours just waiting to speak to someone. It was a little over an hour the first time and I had to hang up. Almost 2 hours the 2nd time and I finally spoke to someone, then 45 minutes the 3rd time. The 2nd time, I was advised the item was out of stock when I ordered it although it did not say that on the site. He advised there was a tracking number, different then the others I had received, and it would be delivered December 11. Of course, it never came so I had to call again and ask for a refund. I should have been updated immediately that the item was out of stock. I should have never had to waste my time calling and spending so much time on hold to be told 2 different things. I found an email address I sent an email to, and NEVER got a response. I am so disappointed with JCPenney's customer service. I'm unsure if I ever even got a refund for an item I've never received but have been charged for.

THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH AND I WANT TO TELL EVERYONE TO NEVER ORDER FURNITURE FROM JCPENNYS!!! MY ORDER WAS PLACED SEPT 4, RECEIVED SHIPPED EMAIL SEPT 9 AND I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE MY ORDER. CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR THE PAST MONTH AND AFTER EACH TIME TOLD WE ARE LOOKING INTO IT AND THEY WOULD CONTACT IN 5-7BUSINESS DAYS (THIS HAPPENED OVER AND OVER) UNTIL TODAY I CALL BACK AND THEY TOLD ME ALL THEY CAN DO IS CREDIT MY ACCOUNT I CAN TAKE THE RISK (YES SHE SAID THAT) TO REORDER AGAIN!!!! NO ONE OFFERED TO REPLACE THE ORDER AGAIN AND FOLLOW IT THROUGH AND MAKE SURE I WOULD RECEIVE IT (ALSO TOLD ME NEVER TO TRUST THE ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE ON THEIR WEB SITE AND THAT THOSE ARE NOT SHIP DATES TO THE END CUSTOMER THAT THEY SEND IN THEIR EMAIL THAT SAYS SHIPPED). THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE AND AFTER ALMOST 2 MONTHS OF SLEEPING WITH NO BED (BECAUSE I ALSO ORDERED NEW MATTRESSES FROM THEM AND RECEIVED THOSE RIGHT AWAY) I RECEIVE NO HELP FROM THEM BESIDES CREDITING MY ACCOUNT FOR MY ORDER! Ordered 7 cellular shades from them in April. They were slightly wider than what they had advertised, but it worked ok and once I got them hung, they looked nice. By July, one of them was splitting open at the pleats. I went to my local JC Penney Home store (10 miles away) only to find out they weren't open and there were no hours posted on the front door. Went back later and after much angst, she finally found the correct replacement and ordered it for me. Said it would take 4-7 business days to arrive. 9 business days later, I get the email saying it has arrived at the store. So I go back to the Home store and they tell me I have to go to the main JC Penney store to pick up an order. So I go over there and stand in line for 20 minutes and finally get the new shade. I opened the box in the parking lot to make sure it was the right product and it looked right so I drove back home - only to find out the pleat size is smaller on this shade than on the others. Called the 1-800 number and was advised my wait time is approximately 32 minutes! Really? Back to the store (only had to stand in line 10 minutes this time), and no one there had any clue how to find the right pleat size. I finally had to leave, so I left all my contact info with them and asked them to call me back once they figure it out. They never called. I wanted to go back to edit my favorable review of these shades to unfavorable on the JCP website, but forgot my password and the forgot password link doesn't work. Is there seriously anyone who is wondering why JC Penney's sales are down and they are having serious financial difficulties? Because of my frustrations over this, I will NEVER shop at JCP again!
