Jcpenney in Stamford, Connecticut - Out of Stock and Cancelled Items

I am a tall, plus-sized girl and it is extremely difficult for me to find pants in my size and especially length. I used to go to JCPenney for ALL of my pants needs including jeans and formal slacks. However, they have recently stopped carrying any pants in ultra tall sizes and I can no longer find pants elsewhere that fit for under $50. My pants shopping experience used to be very easy with Penney's, but now shopping for pants is a chore and an expense. Also, they remain out of stock on over half of their items. Again, with me being a larger size, it is almost guaranteed that they remain out of stock in my size on all of the items that I previously went to JCPenney for. Needless to say, I will no longer be a customer of this retailer.

Why is JCP constantly out of stock? On most of the items on larger sizes the are always out of stock. This store is not the same as years past.

Just discovered that JCP no longer carries about 10 items that I have purchased regularly for decades! Went to order Underscore briefs and Cabin Creek pants today and these have been discontinued, as are St John's Bay items.

If they don't need me as a customer anymore, I see this as an ominous sign. I've already taken a steep loss on my shares of JCP in my brokerage IRA. I've been holding out hope this would rebound, but now I know it doesn't stand a chance.

Selling my shares on Monday!!

My complaint disappeared when I went to spell check! It was about how disappointed I am that Penny's no longer makes their own pantyhose I believe they were the Worthington brand. They fit great, came in good colors, didn't sag, lasted longer then any other I ever...

I miss them too...I just went back to work so up until now I haven't needed panty hose. I found an old pair from probably 3-4 years ago and they still fit perfect. Was really disappointed that they have been discontinued.

I'm not really sure if i can say i was wrongfully accused because i was never really "accused" of anything. At 9am Sunday, December 30, 2012 I had a great job as a seasonal employee of JCP. By the end of the day I surprisingly found myself unemployed. Just the day...

You can’t be giving your discount to others like that. Most companies FIRE over that.

You did way too many sales violations to be surprised by your firing. Common sense should have kicked in.

Jcpenney in Richardson, Texas - Removed Womens Plus Sizes from local store

I live in a rural area. We do have a JC Penney store. I went today to do some shopping to purchase a new pair of jeans and possibly some tops. Our local store carried plus size womens clothing in the past and I have always been able to get the jeans of one particular brand that fit well and they have always had my size in various styles. They also carried Liz Claiborne in a variety of styles. Today I am told that they have discontinued the plus sizes and I could shop online. Mind you, the next nearest JC Penney store is over 100 miles away and I don't want to shop online at this time. I am very displeased with their decision to remove them from my local store, especially since our shopping is extremely limited in our area.

"The new CEO, Ron Johnson, hopes to attract a younger, hipper client to JC Penney's" Why did they think hiring an Apple geek as JCP CEO would work? He is trying to "fix" something that wasn't broken.

Get rid of this clueless twit before JCP self-destructs.

America is getting larger: and 62% of the female population is categorized as overweight. Amazingly, new CEO Ron Johnson has stubbornly eliminated the successful plus size business, thus eliminating about 30- 50% of the female shopping population in each store. You would think that, with unprecedented sales and profit losses for the year, he would protect this profitable and growing business.

For years, the JCPenney women’s apparel buying teams have been working very hard to fine-tune and exploit this business. They were successful in both the metropolitan and rural markets. But now… new CEO Ron Johnson is removing a very successful plus size business from his company, because this customer does not fit the profile of who he wants shopping in his stores. Also, he needed to make room to sell ice cream and coffee (see below).

The 100 year old JCPenney company does not exist anymore...it is now called 'JCP', and the original founder's portrait of James Cash Penney, was instructed to be removed from the stores. The new CEO, Ron Johnson, hopes to attract a younger, hipper client to JC Penney's. He is remodeling its retail spaces to include a "Main Street" of 100 branded shops with new lines from ‘edgy’ fashion designers, catering to a younger, SMALLER, consumer. Along those "streets' will be ice cream and coffee bars and wood tables with built-in iPad tablet computers that shoppers can use. In the middle of it all, a Town Square will offer activities like Pilates.

The CEO has recently stated that he "will adapt content to markets based on what the demographics are," and that "small towns won't be receiving the full makeover in their stores." However, by eliminating his plus size business, especially from a market like you are describing in your very valid complaint, he is already not being truthful about his ‘makeover’ strategy. What a mess he is making of this once great American retail institution.

Jcpenney in Saint Louis, Missouri - JCPENNY'S QUIT SELLING CARPENTER JEANS

JCPENNY'S quit selling Carpenter Jeans. They have put all of their pants sizes together like playing scramble just to try to find what you want. They find out they no longer sell carpenter jeans.By what I'm reading it appears they are not going to be selling a lot of the items they use to sell. That's Sad and ashame.Give the Custormer's what they what to buy or they will just go elsewhere to shop.Fire whoever has made these very bad choices to change JCPENNY'S.We want it back to the JCPENNY'S we grew up with.My money is good elsewhere.GoodBye JCPENNY'S.

Sound's like everyone on this post has a problem.First of all next time be careful about entering your payment amount.Second this was your fault. NOT j c penney's fault. Stop paying your bill's late and You will not have this problem.I am sure J C penney's is not going to go broke because you do not shop their.I understand you were upset because you made the error on your payment,But their was no need to be hostile behind your error. And to bring your child in on this mess you made is plain uncalled for.My child also has ASTHMA and I am sure to alway's have more medication for this cause than actually needed just in case.Alway's prepare yourself for an ASTHMA ATTACK.If not you could very well lose your child.I do not understand why?You would bring up this sickness to j c penney. It's not their problem it's your's.I hope you did not feel like it would get your money back any sooner.

Couldn't agree more, these were my favorite Jean's. The back pockets look ridiculous, even a young version of me wouldn't have worn them. Seems that a losing a portion of their consumers is not a bother as long as they make a profit.
