Rude. Unhelpful. JCP cashiers always push their credit cards but never ask their customers for their rewards card. I have sent in 3 after the fact transactions and none were taken care of. I spent so much time dealing with them I should be an employee! I have cancelled my credit card and will not be shopping their anymore. They are now saying that it has taken so long to process their mistakes, they cannot credit the account. >60 days Obviously if they had processed it correctly and corrected it the first time that would not be the case. After 25 + years, I am saying ba-bye to JCP! 1 of 3 similar transactions "Thank you for contacting JCPenney Rewards. You currently have 197 points in your rewards account. Unfortunately, we are unable to add 108 points due because the transaction was made 60 days prior. If you have any other questions or concerns, please reply to this e-mail or call our JCPenney Customer Care Center at 1-800-322-1189. We appreciate you choosing us for your shopping needs. Most every store card is like this. Amazon's store card has 26% interest.

Common knowledge.

Of course, paying in full, up-front, every time, is the best advice.

I just checked my credit score and found that JC Penney's Master Card was canceled, today no less. For seemingly no reason. Sure, the lady states it's due to inactivity on the account. Really, I just renewed the card... That's "No activity"? Then the girl says that there is nothing I can do about it, she said that they had sent out a letter... Well I didn't get it! Or, perhaps I did get it and it was mixed in with all the other junk-mail I get from JC Penney's. She proceeded to ask me if I would like to apply for a new card? I politely explained that my history with JC Penney's had just came to an abrupt end. After being a JC Penney's card holder for nearly 15 years... I still have my SEARS card though! David A. Never get a JCpenny Credit Card! Big Rip OFF. | Jcpenney in Richardson, Texas

My husband received a credit limit of $500 and purchased some items and pay on time and kept a $0 balance. Within 5months later they submitted a credit check and tell him they decreased is credit limit to $200 because of credit score. How can that be if you ran the credit check to approve him of $500. They do this just to get you to get a credit card with them, then reduce it. Then refuses to increase the limit once they decrease it. So please read your fine print for periodically credit check that they do. This affect your credit record. They are the worst department store to get a credit card with. Macy or Dillard etc.. department stores has never has such rules to apply to their credit card. I don't think this is a lawful rule, but I advise not to accept a credit card with JCPenny. If you have one already please, please pay it off and close your account before they make up more unlawful rules that can affect your credit score. They surely need to be investigated by the government and need to be exposed to public. Please pass the words to friend and family.

I placed an online order for 2 jackets. After receiving an email stating my payment couldn't be authorized, I called and was told it was my card so i changed to a different one card. It got denied too. So i called a 2nd time and the woman said it was the previous customer service person's fault and she'll fix it. So I got an order confirmation email and thought it was all done. So after 4 days, i went on the order confirmation email and clicked on the link to take me to my order review. After looking over to see if it was going to ship soon and it says real small that the order is cancelled. After spending 30 minutes on the phone, they stated it was indeed cancelled and the items were no longer in stock. You're out of luck. Even though the very first email clearly states they would keep the items on hold for me for 4 days. It had been 3 days. I'm speechless and am now realizing it wasn't my credit cards, it was them. Not one person helps in their call center. They do not know what they are doing. I'll never go to jcpenney again!!!!
