I want my bill for the purchased I made so I can pay it off ASAP and then I want the account closed out and a letter sent to both me and the credit agency stating why I had to close my account, since it was not our fault
I am very disappointed at no longer being able to purchase the Cabin Creek wrinkle free Oxford shirts at JC Penny's. I loved purchasing and wearing them for over 20 years. They were a quality product at a reasonable price with a wide choice of colors and patterns. I...

JCP quit selling that brand over two years ago. If you want a store to be loyal to you and carry the brands you want, you need to visit them more than once a decade. Stores need customers to return a few times a year to purchase new goods, not every couple of years.

I have a function for work coming up and ordered a new suit from jcp.com. My shipment arrived. It's a blazer and a purple t-shirt. Not the blazer and pair of slacks I ordered. Their solution: drive to the store to exchange. I live 40 miles away, hence the online...

Jcpenney Credit Card

Jcpenney in Carterville, Illinois - Loyal customer of JCP for over 40 years has credit priviledges revoked

I have been a loyal JCP customer for over 40 years and have always made my payments on time and always paid over the minimum amount. In the past two years, I have had two $25 penalty fees because my check had to be run through my bank again. Each time, the payment was collected. In June, I made a payment of $62.42 and currently have no balance due. This week I received a letter from GCRB, the bank that owns the account, informing me that they have closed my account due to a NUMBER of dishonored payments. I was sure that a mistake had been made, so I called GCRB and was told that this is their policy. I mentioned that with the trouble that JCP has had with their sales and their attempt to find someone to turn their company around, they surely shouldn't be treating their loyal customers this way. I was told that this was just a rumor, but I assured the customer service representative who said this that I have read about it several times in the newspaper. I am so upset by being treated so harshly. I assume that JCP no longer wants my business, which is a good thing because this is one former gold card member who will never spend another dime in a JCP store!

I had the same thing happen to me! I am a loyal Jcpenney silver card member who has never missed one single payment.

However when I called customer service (after coming out of shock that my account had been closed) Nelly said "I'm sorry there is nothing I can do". I asked her could I please talk to a regional manager or get a phone number for him. She told me you are talking to a manager. She said all I can do is give you an address so you can write with your complaint.

I was devastated! Surely someone cares about thing like this. I told Nelly that there was a problem with the way Jcpenney processes payments because they ask you to schedule your payment and you do that however the payment then takes days to draft and since none of my other credit card or other accounts do this (they draft immediately) when my 18 year old comes to me to use the bank card for things she needs, she thinks the balance is accurate and uses accordingly.

To close a loyal customer account for this is OUTRAGEOUS! Jcpenney needs it loyal customers to succeed.

Yes I had the samething happen to me!! They terminated my account because the payment had to be ran through my bank also.

There wasn't even 24 hours between payments! I also had this happen only 1 time.

they are A--H---S!

So you admit that GCRB owns the account, and that they would do nothing for you, yet somehow you still blame JCPenny who have no say in the closing of that account whatsoever. OK.

@MattD78

JCP is responsible for hiring GCRB to handle their credit card customers. I have contacted Myron Ullman and asked for his help but had no response.

I am open to suggestions as to how to get my gold card priviledges restored. Bring them on!

Jcpenney Credit Card

Jcpenney in Clovis, California - $25 Late Fee for being 2 hrs late!!!!

I paid my bill 2 hrs late. My payment was due for 6.23.14... I paid it on 6.23.14. but because of a time difference the payment was about 2 hrs late... I got a Jcpenny card to help me (a college student with limited income) to buy clothing, and to start my credit. As for why it was late... I had fraudulent activity on my back account and it was frozen... after dealing with that and unfreezing my accounts THEN the payment was made and that lead to it being 2 hrs late. I can't have this anymore... After paying the bill. And paying off the card, I will have to cancel the card. The late fees are too much and I can't afford to not be forgiven for being late 2 hrs, even though technically the bill was still paid on 6.23.14.

You paying your jcpenney card late, is not jcpenney's fault. All major retailers that have credit cards, usually have those cards issued from a seperate, larger bank.

Those banks make the rules for you to pay your credit card-and if you don't pay on time, what the consequences may be.

This is not uncommon practice for all credit cards.

You did know that you could have talked to your bank and withdrawn cash long before this would have been an issue?

Also, in the Terms Of Use of almost every credit card on this planet it will say that payments need to be made before a certain time based on the timezone of their main office to not garner late fees.

No sympathy my friend.

Dear Anonymous (JC Penny paid shill),

The point is about customer service! You have heard about customer retention, as the customer is why you are in business.

If you are not a paid shill take the time to read and comment on the other customer complaints about cheap merchandise being sold under former branding, pricing markups so sale prices look better (which in actuality is still higher than the original price), online orders that do not get placed, bookkeeping errors, refunds that customers need to fight to get and delivery nightmares. So based on what I have read and if 2 hours, as in this complaint, means losing a customer, I would venture that this chain is about to go the way of Circuit City and Kmart. If this is the new JC Penny, remember you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.

My advice to you is make sure you get paid up front. It is amazing what people will do for a paycheck!

I am sorry this happened. But the JC Penney credit card is not owned by the company.

The finance companies will close accounts for a couple reasons. In-active for a long period of time 1. Being your credit safety - the customer may have lost the card or had it stolen and may not know it.

2.For their own protection, the customer may have passed away and if they were not notified to close out the account then someone else could start using it. This is a reason major credit cards have expiration dates.

March 6 I loaded up my two small children and went to our local JCP to buy a specific item I had seen in their children's dept. I was given the option to ship to my home or save the $8 and ship to store. I chose ship to store and paid cash for my order. I'm not sure if...

The associate who placed your .com order

should have explained that cash cannot

be used for online orders...the same applies

if you were ordering from your home computer .

Jcpenney in Lockport, New York - Reduced credit card amount

I have been a card holder at jcp for 10 years. Always a loyal customer and they dropped my credit line without telling me. My line was 2000 and dropped it to 650 even though I did not max it. I ran into some personal issues and ended up being late on a payment and called to explain the situation which they said was fine. I've been making payments on time and still dropping my credit. I can't stand them now and they have the nerve to keep sending promotions. At this point they drop it to zero because I'm done with them.

Jcpenney - Late fees

While still trying to contest a $25.oo late fee I was just hit with a $37.oo late fee and $2.oo interest fee on a $35.oo balance. Yes I cancelled the card and will be filing complaints with every agency I can. I will NEVER deal with JCP credit or stores again. I had gone into the local store and paid cash. I was 5.oo short of the minimum payment. I paid the entire balance the next day on line. When the next statement arrived I had a $25.00 late fee. I contacted JCP and they were not interested in listening to any thing I said. I cancelled the card.
