Jcpenney - Prices

FOR EVERYONE WHINING ABOUT HIGHER PRICES: The store is in the process raising prices of the merchandise because the customer demanded sales and coupons. If you have not noticed, there has been a $10 coupon and 20% off coupon circulating in recent weeks. There is also a weekly ad showing the sales for the upcoming week. Remember, YOU DIDN'T LIKE THE EVERYDAY LOW PRICE CONCEPT! So, in order for you to have your worthless coupons and sales, they need to raise their prices to make a profit. If you want almost free stuff, I suggest shopping at your local thrift shop.

It is called profit margin and every business has one and must follow it or go out of business. You will never get through to the type of people who complain about prices.

Jcpenney in Cranberry, Pennsylvania - No wonder JCPenny is going down the tube.

I was shopping at the Cranberry Store. I had over $200 of merchandise to purchase. Walked up to the teller and said I forgot my 20 percent coupon at home. There was nothing she could do about it. She thought I was still going to purchase the items. I said no thank you. You just lost a customer. I would think $200 would of help the daily total for that store. I do think your quality in clothing is very cheap. You must be getting a lot of China junk. I do like your purses. I had 2 to purchase. I will shop elsewhere. Your loss. luciazacherl@yahoo.com

At some stores cashiers can get fired for giving a discount with no proof. Thats called stealing from the company.

Lets put your job at risk and see how you like it.

JCPenney doesn't send out coupons for no reason. Put the coupon in your purse if you think you are going to forget it. It is not the "teller's" responsibility to get you 20% off.

Have some common sense.

most of us good cashiers at jcp will give the 20% coupon discount without the coupon if it is mentioned or forgotten. I usually scan the coupon and hand it right back to the customer so they can use it again before it expires. Please know that not all of us are like the cashier you encountered.

So you're going to blame the associate because you forgot your 20% off coupon?! lol

I'm sure you won't be missed. A lot of stores don't give credit for coupons that the customer doesn't have.

Also you made a mistake when you referred to the cashier as a teller.

Tellers work in banks.

Jcpenney - People are ***

Well, here ya go people. For all those that whined and cried about sales and coupons: the store is re-pricing the merchandise...again. The prices will be higher. The reason? So that you all can have your sales and coupons. The ridiculous thing is that it works! Everyone will think they're getting a deal, so the store will be busy. HAHA! If anyone acutally thinks that sales and coupons save them money, they're an ***. Instead of an item being a simple $20, it will be marked up to $50. Then, there will be a sign that it's on sale for $30, and you can use your worthless $10 coupon. If you can do a 2nd grade math problem, you'll see that your not saving anything! It's so funny.

Says the saddest, most pathetic, argumentative, worthless, and least intelligent parasite found in nature. I am, of course, referring to the "unhappy retail clerk/cashier." They love to take out their intrinsic misery on others through trolling and insults. This is a substitute for their lack of upward mobility, and their inevitable lifetime of lateral, or downward, movement. Good luck, you are a failure in life, and will continue to be one for as long as you live. Most likely this failure is atavistic, and thus will be inherited by your children. Well done! Well done!

On a side note, I can't wait for JCP to go out of businesss. It will be remarkably entertaining watching your futile attempts to get a job with that ridiculous and ignorant attitude. Though... I do hear Cinnabon is hiring! Quite the future you have ahead of you!

Signed,

The Person Applauding at Your Funeral

Jcpenney in Houston, Texas - Just another boring store.

I did most of my shopping at JC Penny and Kohl's. I loved receiving coupons in the mail and would and would go to JC Penny even if I did not need anything. I was shocked when I saw those *** commercials making fun of the coupons because I was always excited to get them in the mail. I have gone several times to JCP and purchased nothing. My main store now is Kohl's and JCP is just another boring store. It's hard to say what JCP can do to get shoppers like me back in. I recently got a $10 off coupon in the mail and I just threw it in the garbage.

Jcpenney in Sacramento, California - Took away coupons

I was the BIGGEST JCP fan, spending thousands per year, now won't go into the store unless I have a specific reason. I don't want to be told when to shop re:last Friday of month, or have to look at tags to see best price! I want to go into a store, see what I want, use my coupon. In my opinion, they are telling you to go to their version of clearance racks to get the best deals! I don't want to wait till an item is the lowest price and size is limited etc.

They were telling you when to shop before. You could get a deal if you used your coupon on certain days on certain weekends only .

Only got a deal on sale days. Is that not telling you when to shop? Now you get the sale price everyday. Red price is everyday low price, white is monthly value(which is a sale that last for a month everyday) and best price which is clearance.

Sounds like a great deal and it is everyday! No one will tell me when to shop cause I can go to jcp any day and get a great price!

I work at JCP, and I think you completely misunderstood our new pricing strategy. We aren't trying to make you wait for clearance or work around certain fridays of the month.

It's actually quite the opposite What the company is doing is trying to be more honest with our pricing, make the prices low enough you wont need a coupon, and make it so you DONT have to wait to get a good price. Everything was always on "sale" before, where it would have an original price that it NEVER was really sold for. The prices would just go on rotation between 40-50% and occasionally would have a really great sale. The new pricing strategy makes it so you don't need to wait for a sale or coupon.

At first, I saw it the same way you did and HATED the new CEO for changing it but after a few months I really do like the new pricing. For example, we have a set of sheets that once every 2-3 months would go on a sale where it was any size for the typical price of a twin, $19.99 (this included king sized so a major money saver!). Whenever I needed sheets I would wait months for this sale, and occassionally even miss it if I was busy over a major holiday weekend. Now, that same set of sheets, a twin is like $15 (cheaper than before), a full is like $18 (again, cheaper), a queen is like $20 and a king is $25.

Yes, the king is more expensive than it was on that sale, but I don't have to wait three months without sheets any more waiting for the sale to come around. The new pricing isn't intended to make you wait for the first and third friday of the month, that's just for clearance which is just left over items that don't sell during their sale season, just like the clearance was before. I think the company just got sick of people stalking the pricing teams waiting for them to mark something down and then fighting over the merchandise with other customers once it was marked down (seriously happened all the time) so they now let customers know when the clearance mark downs are going to happen, and intentionally lined it up with when most people get paid, although the prices dont go back up so theres no reason to like rush in the day of mark downs unless you want something specific. It's not that they want you to rush in to buy clearance, or wait for clearance, they don't want that any more than they did before the new pricing strategies.

They just wanted to be more honest about what the prices actually are and make it so you don't have to wait around for them or save up coupons to get a good deal. Like I said, I didn't like the pricing at first either, but after working there and shopping there a ton, it really is cheaper and soooo much more convenient. Plus I don't have to deal with people complaining because such and such lamp was $5 cheaper last week.

Also, no, I am not a brainwashed member of jcp coorporate, nor am i paid to put this here, I'm just a desperate college student putting myself through college and doing so by working at jcp. i just happened across this site and wanted to clear the air about this stuff because people keep complaining when in all reality, it's just a misinterpretation of the new pricing strategy.

Jcpenney Coupon

Jcpenney in Beaverton, Oregon - Photos are bad Customer service is worse

I have gone to Wal Mart every year for pictures and not only were the pictures great but the experience was always awesome. Well this year my friend gave me a coupon for JcPenny pictures, and I was reluctant, but decided to give it a try. I have never been so unhappy with a service as well as the customer service. The pictures were aweful, and I was only given 20 terrible pictures to choose from. I would ask where a shot we had taken was, only to be told she had to erase the photo. The girl taking the pictures gave little direction, and I was having to arrange my family for the pictures. I felt limited of my options. The girl at least had a professional attitude which is by far better than her associates. The other women working in this sorry ecuse for a photo studio were very rude and argumentative. While my husband and I were trying to decide which of the terrible photos to pay for, my children were watching the T.V. and coloring with the other children at the desk. Two women were then loudly demanding me to pay for these books which they left out, and telling me to keep my children away from the desk. (Where the t.v was playing a childrens movie) When I told the women how upset I was, that I would not be back ever again for pictures, and on top of the situation her demanding payment for items that my children did not take out she replied with "well that your decision". I was furious, and spoke to a JcPenny manager who told me that they are not affiliated with JcPenny. (When they hold the JcPenny name I expect JcPenny standards) I guess JcPenny is so big that they don't care about customer satisfaction or customer service. I was not the only family being treated this way tonight(12/18/2011 between 4-6pm) My husband witnessed one of your associates yelling as if to fight with another unsatisfied customer. It seems that terrible customer sevice is not just a rare occasion, but the standard your store applies. I will probably shop at JcPenny again although not anytime soon, but will never ever get or reccoment photos from JcPenny. For all the people out there who are thinking of going to JcPenny for pictures DON'T . Waste of time and money. DON'T GET PHOTOS HERE.

It is very easy to get rid of this problem.

Just report your credit card lost/stolen and JC Penney will reissue a new card with a new number. It should work.
