I am very very very UNHAPPY that i was contacted by a number I did not recognize informing me that I had been signed up for Stonebridge life insurance benefits and that after a certain time period if i did not call a number i would be charged monthly for the service. My first reaction was fear that my identity had been stolen or this was some kind of scam but no, it was a service JCPenny had signed me up for when I simply bought a dress off their website, MONTHS AGO, I might add. So yes I'm upset and pissed because now I have to worry about getting this *** service canceled and keeping them from charging my bank account. A responsibility I did not want and shouldn't have to bear. It puts unnecessary worry in my life and I want something done about this!!! I will be telling all my friends to avoid JCPenny, because of their disrespectful behavior and you can find the same clothes cheaper at other places so I will not be shopping there again. And I ask anyone who reads this or has dealt with something similar to do the same.

what I can tell you is that these people's meager income depends on their ability to use this phony sweepstakes and rewards bs, and the JC Penney name to shove this Stonebridge insurance down your throat. It is their job.

But they are not employees of any company they are "independant contractors" And the best of them are the ones who will make you think they are doing you a favor with this bs.

Just throw the cards away, it isn't even about JC Penney, its about selling you insurance.

Jcpenney in Reston, Virginia - Beware: JCPenny/GE Capital make errors and lie

We keep getting bills from JC Penny. Our account was resolved weeks ago while working with a gentleman from GE Capital. We paid the balance owed and an agreement was reached that the fees would be removed. There were errors on our account made by Penny's as well and these were corrected. The gentleman assisting us was Peter Richards who is located in India. The confirmation number is 4071302. We paid $122.14 as requested. The penalty of $37.95 was waived. Personnel from GE Capital act like they never make mistakes and assume that people who call are dead beats, in terms of attitude on the phone. Oddly, even though we assume that GE Capital has systems and accounting savvy, we had several errors in attempting to pay bills on line. The new executive leadership ought to wonder how many JCP customers like us are pissed and will NEVER buy again. I would appreciate your clearing our account.

trust me, i worked there, had to deal with many MANY complaints and returns. That company is whack.

Yes you bought things at JCPenney's but they don't do the billing. Its sent through GEMB. JCP has next to nothing to do with it.

Jcpenney in Fish Creek, Wisconsin - Asked If I would Like To Close My Account

Placed order via phone 7 blinds 3 hours! Order did not go through so I got a call asking me if I would like to cancel the order! I called the credit department and they had a missed payment (apparently I incorrectly set up online payment $200 owed on account. I asked to take care of it and place the order they said NO and that I could pay and would have a $200 limit on the card???? I am a 25 year customer and own two motels I spend a lot at JCP. I Have had difficulty with customer care the last two years and never before that. I asked if the limit would bo back to the original limit after payment and she answered "would you like to close the account" I paused in disbelief and then said Yes. I will never open the catelog or step in the store again. My thousands each year do not make a difference! I saw quality go down in the last two years in the Blind department and customer service quality go down as well. These are the changes that JC Penny needs to focus on.

Jcpenney in Los Angeles, California - JCP online fell too short!

I ordered a pair of boots online on Nov 25, 2011 at good price plus free shipping, I wasnt going to be able to do the after thanksgiving shopping. Anyway, the order did not officially ship until Dec 9. On Dec 18 I sent an email inquiring my order status. The rep responded I should reveive my order by the 23rd. Do I waited and today the 30th I checked the status online. It stated that the order was returned and the money credited back to my account on Dec 29, 2011. I sent an email outraged by all this. The rep just responded they apologize. That most shoes were not delivered because they were NEVER shipped. They didnt get enough shoes from their suppliers. After asking to resend my shoes express the rep said the shoes now appear out of stock. I will never order online through them again! Im considering cancelling my jcp platnum cc.

Jcpenney in Tampa, Florida - Just wrong!!! Plain and simple!

JCPenney has officially broken my heart. I used to love JCPenney! They've been a part of my life since I was young - like an American tradition. Well come to find out they are greedy capitalistic pigs like the rest of them - maybe worse! I tried to make a payment over the phone with the automated system (which I normally have to do because I'm an average working class jo-ann with NO FLOW and sometimes need to wait to the last minute) the system could not recognize my account and my call was forwarded to the Philippines and I was informed that JCPenney was going to charge me $10.00 TO PAY MY BILL!!!!! Aren't they saving enough money(???)by hiring oversees - do they REALLY need to capitalize yet further on our debt to them by charging us TO PAY OUR BILL on top of the 30% Interest. Shame on you JCPENNEY. And your trying to market to the younger generation. GOOD LUCK with that!!! The younger generation is a lot smarter than that ... and if not we will definitely inform them of your greedy tactics. :0( so sad.....

I work in customer service. For a different company though.

I can almost guarantee this lady ordered wrong, and was entering in the wrong e mail address or not putting in all of the e mail address. MVP im sure like most big box stores has a very savvy online ordering system.

Why would her order have so many issues if no one else did. In the end it's the end users fault because their not competent enough to read and follow the ordering directions.

Jcpenney in Ocala, Florida - Do not buy JCP gift cards!

I purchased a gift card with my debit card, the money was taken out of my bank account, yet the card did not work. After three weeks of speaking to the store manager, the gift card company, and JCP corporate the situation has still not been resolved. As of today I have gotten the runaround from ten people who are supposedly customer service representatives, three from JCP corporate. They continue to tell me they will call me back but no one has called me back. The store manager will not return my phone calls. I will never shop at JCP again, I am disgusted.

Yes I had a gift card and I had the reciept and JcPenny still refused to honor it. JCP looked it up in the system saw there was a balance and still would not honor the gift card.

I will never shop there again or purchase any giftcards from JCP ever again. Worst Company ever and terrible customer service.

well its something to do with the people that handle the jc penney credit cards... Problems with those cant be handled by the store managers they have to be handle by the people that issue them. and thats not always true either i sell giftcards all the time at jc penney and have not once had a problem with them so put the blame on the gift card people

i have never seen my jcp credit card, it was took out my mailbox by someone and use on sept. 27th &29th ran it up to limit.

i just put salon charge on telephone when filled out for credit card og 60.39. THIS AMOUNT IS ALL I OWE, I WILL PROCUTE WHO DONE THIS.
