Order custom drapes in May of 2011, they ordered the wrong material, took me 3 phone calls to get that straight, then they brought them to install and had the right material but drapes were not finished no pleats looked like two bed sheets sewn together. But had the wrong ones, so they were hung until I could get the right ones redone.

2nd install, drapes were measured wrong, width on two end panels were to short, another reorder! I spoke with the regional mgr. she offered me 50% off, I received 1 check that amounted to about 10% I called and they said they made a mistake on my "refund" and would send me anther check which I never received, I call corp. to file a complaint and to this day I have not receive any return call.

Today I received a call that my final curtains are ready I told them to shove it! I would obtain another decorator to fix their mistakes that I wasnt giving JC Penny another dime, or any more of my business!

How often does J C Penney's do drug screens on employee's, especially employee's who go into Customers homes???

We had these people in CT install custom window treatments for us. After several months, the treatments were sagging terribly.

We called them and they sent out a fellow to "adjust" them. The *** came out and broke two of the window treatments. We told him to take them back, fix them and return them.

It's now 4 months later and I was told the custom drapes haven't been repaired and are sitting on the floor in some decorators office. NICE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor designers, high pricing, 4 months to get done, now scheduling installation is a nightmare. Don't use JCP.

Update, after 8 months of dealing with JC Penny Custom decorating dept. They call and say that my drapes are ready!

I said you can shove them, and I am not paying JC Penny's another dime! I also sent a letter to the President and CEO of JC Pennys with my log of issues. No response from the corporate office either! I Recieved a call after Christmas from Melissa the regional mgr.

she left me a message to call her back, I did and she said "Well I'm on vacation!" Then why the *** did you call me! So all she said was I heard you wanted to cancel your order, I said you heard right, and she left it at that!" WTF? During the last install they broke the little clip on the solar shades (which are paid in full) so the replacement has just come in so my husband called them and ask them to just ship it to us and he would fix it. The sales lady said "I was told you cancelled your drape order, and we need to schedule a time to come and "REMOVE" them!

WTF, my husband said "well your not getting to come and remove them! If you want what we have back you will need to contact an attorney and then we will go to court!" They are freaking out of control! *** POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEIR CUSTOM DEPT." Oh yeah Bob who was the installer very nice person been with them 15 years plus QUIT because I am assuming he was tired of the BS also! It will be interesting to see if they pursue the take back because if they do they will be in court with us and they will also be on Chanel 9 news!

So you told them you were cancelling your order and then you were confused when they no longer wanted to do business with you? Its dumb *** like you that make this business difficult.

Your rich, entitled attitude is matched by an ignorant, entiled, moronic mindset. You're paying thousands of dollars for the best fabric in the world. The drapes are made far away from anyone selling them to you or installing them unless you live in North Carolina. The salesperson can not travel to the person making the drapes and supervise them.

99% of customers are more than satisfied. Unfortunately, when there's a mistake, you rich *** look for any chance to get some money back, or rub it in, or complain, or threaten to cancel (like a $2000 order in the midst of a $20k week really matters) or who knows what else. As if you're being violated or taken advantage of. There's a mistake on your *** order and its a little harder and longer to fix than taking off the pickles of a fast food sandwich.

This is what happens when humans stitch your treatments instead of robots. If you want the ratty garbage of blinds.com, then go right ahead.

See how they treat you when you say ''you heard right i want to cancel''. Sheesh :(

It is fascinating. A small clip is broken, and you feel it is appropriate to keep thousands of dollars or sue in court.

Decorators are working for peanuts, and this is what the clientele are like.

I just now saw this response, first of all I was cancelling my curtain order after 3 screw ups from them! Not my blinds I paid for them in full, and then the clip was broken by the curtain person (the valance) is the only part of the curtain they got right!

I am not a RICH*** as you put it! I work hard for my money and this was a treat for me to be able to afford custom drapes which I saved up for! So don't judge me when you don't even know me! and don't ASSUME I am a rich *** just because I ordered custom drapes.

Anyway I finally wrote a letter to the corporate office and they did respond with a phone call I was impressed they read my letter. The gentlemen who took over the area where I live was super nice and he made sure I was taken very good care of after all the crap I went through! Also, I have a close friend whom does custom drapes of excellent quality but I couldn't afford her!

that's why I went to JC Penny's because they were cheaper, you get what you pay for! So you my friend can kiss my behind as you have no idea exactly what I went through to get my order completed correctly and it took months to do so!

If it makes you feel any better, they just fired all the schedulers and coordinators simply because c**** like you complain like you are a God, or like we were purposefully trying to screw you. Now a centralized call center in Utah will call the entire country and ship your merchandise piece by piece.

Box after box that you have to keep in your house, after paying in full UP FRONT. Enjoy that chaos hahahah

I just retired after a long stint at this job. It is terrible that many of the customers treat us like slaves or that we work to provide them with what looks good so they can then use the information.

Decorators make less than minimum wage after any errors and money back comes out of the meager money we earned. When you ask for money back or want 50 percent back which you feel you are owed, remember you are getting this on the back of a worker and not impinging on a corporation.

It is shameful that the vast majority of customers in home take advantage of the decorators knowledge and product information- many taking up precious time then canceling after signing contracts leaving us with little money- aprx minimum wage when the store removes our commissions to appease people like you- why assume what we do for hours to suit you should come at a bargain?When you take up time- complain and ask for money or product back it comes out of our wage-many of us are highly skilled yet earn aprx-take home of 150 a week? try to live on that- or better yet try to really care that you have 2 jaguars in the driveway and are asking for more money off ?
