Jcpenney in Fort Myers, Florida - Store delivery failure

I placed an order online and opted to have it delivered to the store near me, since shipping would be free. I was told it would take 4 to 7 business days and I would receive a phone call and email when my item arrived at the store. I waited until today to call the store and found out that my item has been sitting there since 6/11/2013. I received No phone call and No email. I personally don't think J.C.Penney can afford to be making these kinds of mistakes, especially if they're trying to re-brand. Customer Service has to be a key element in the way you run your business. If not, people will go elsewhere, which is exactly what I will do next time.

Check your contact information on your JCP.com online profile. This has happened a lot in our store because customer's do not update their information and we are calling phone numbers that are disconnected, invalid, go to fax machines or have voice mail boxes that are full and we can't leave a message.

Don't know why you were told you'd receive an email. We don't do that in the store, we only make phone calls.

The intial one is done by an electronic dialer, but if your contact information is incorrect it you won't get one. Keeping the contact information up-to-date is the customer's responsibility.

That is what happened to me exactly - wants to deliver two different pieces at different dates - your mattress one day then three days later the frame. I had to cancel my order for their convenience the shipper.
