I received JC Penney MasterCard in the mail. I DID NOT request these cards.

I do have a regular credit card with JC Penney. When I called to inquire it took me 15 minutes to navigate the automated responses. That in itself was aggravating. I was told that JC Penney sent me a letter stating “if I don’t respond” they would automatically issue the MasterCard, which they did.

I never saw the letter. If it came I probably thought it was junk mail. I told the person I spoke to that it was backwards. Shouldn’t it be IF I RESPOND then you send me the MasterCard and if I don’t respond it might mean I’m not interested.

Well JC Penney didn’t agree. I had someone open a credit card on my name earlier this year and thankfully I have theft identity protection and they caught it. I don’t need this crap from J c Penney.

I rarely shop there so I’m going to cancel my account. If that’s how they treat customers, I don’t need them.
