Why does it matter that the employee was African-American? That has nothing to do with the issue,which was the doors being locked before you thought they should be.

Most stores start shutting down,including locking the doors about five minutes before the posted closing time. This prevents other customers from wandering in and keeping the employees later than they are supposed to be there.

They have lives and families too.Also,if the store was in a mall,the malls have regulations about how late the stores can remain open for security purposes. Perhaps you should try shopping earlier so that you are not there at closing time.

Broken and missing mugs from jcpenney.com

When I picked up the box from UPS from jcpenney.com, I knew my coffee mugs from my jcpenney order were broken because I can hear the sounds of broken cups. The mugs were put in a box that was way too big without any other packing material to protect it. I was to have two sets of mugs sent to me, one set was completely shattered and the other set only had one mug int it. Jcpenney told me I would not need to return the broken shards and would receive a credit back on my credit card. It has been over two weeks and I only got $2.08 back which is not what I paid. I paid over $28 for those cups. After severals calls, Jcpenney told me I need to file a corporate investigation to get back the remainder of my refund!

Jcpenney in San Diego, California - St Johns Bay slider shorts by JC Penney

I attempted to purchase some St Johns Bay slider shorts from JC Penney only to find out they were replaced with another ill fitting style. I tried every other brand they had and nothing fit me like the St Johns Bay slider shorts. I asked the clerk and was told they were discontinued. I have worn these shorts for years. They were of great quality and the fit was exceptional. However if Penney's is trying to salvage their reputation they won't do it by deleting their best brands or cheapening their products. Unfortunately I will have to shop else where for this item.

I don't know why J. C. Penneys stopped carrying Cabin Creek twill pants, but I can tell you that's why I've stopped shopping regularly at their stores. I wear an 18wp and it is so hard to find "plus size" petites. They have another brand but they are more expensive and they are a dressier material. Why, why, why did they do this? I cannot find slacks like those anywhere. Shame on you. I still look on line for sale items but unless it is something I cannot order I go elsewhere. They sold this brand for years and then.....BOOM, gone.

I ordered a tri-fold wallet for my husband from jcp, on 12/03/12 on line. 10 days later get postcard ite unavailable, call customer service, I am told they have in black no brown order item again. Had ordered other wallet with other stuff and free shipping this time they try to charge shipping even though item not available is their fault. Get customer care person does order on phone says in stock will ship in time for Xmas. Gives me discount for confusion and delay and free shipping. Get postcard from JCP item has shipped. Waiting, waiting awing! No wallet call customer care they say it shipped 12/17/12 (first time said shipped 12/05/12!) Call again on 12/21/12 said postcard has no tracking number? Says it will be here 12/24/12. No iWallet! Again! call customer service this time they say oh it was canceled! I am really sick and tired of all the lies, plus now I just found out they never removed the charges from my card. I finally got someone who actually took the charges off but had no explanation for the constant run=around! I will not do business with JCP on line ever again!!

on nov. 23rd 2012 we purchased a bed frame, a matress and a 900 $ couch. we got the bed frame and the matress, but no couch. we paid a lot of money for the couch. and we called your store (jcpenney) there was no record, we called the suppliers still no record says its not in the system. yet jcpenney didn't fail to take our money for the couch. we even have the reciept. my husband is on his way to the store now. he is very pissed. i am too. sincerely a customer who doesnt like her money being stolen. especially almost a thousand dollars. not in the system. very funny!

Jcpenney in San Diego, California - Penney's Credit Card. Interest charges.

I did not receive any bill in October. You charged me interest on the Nov bill. It was never received. I always pay my bills as soon as I receive them. Please check back on my credit card and you will find every bill has been paid as soon as received. It's only $1.00 interest but I am still annoyed. And I don't need 100 words to tell you this. It would be nice if you could implement some type of system that would automatically send out a second bill in case our lousy post office loses the mail. Rowena Naranjo johnandrowena@sbcglobal.net

In response to the author above about the credit card statement, several things remain in tact. They are not required to send you a paper statement in the mail.

That statement is a courtesy reminder to pay your bill. You can go online and view your account.

If you know that you owe money on your account, pay it. Don't blame the company for your lack of common sense.

I hope that people will wise up and not use your credit cards and let the company get bit in the butt for it.Its just making serious stress conditions on the consumer and families too.

ITs hard but just say NO and cut the cards up ! Keep a major one and ditch the rest.Be responsible!

First off - its GE Money that handles the JC Penney accounts. They are responsible for not sending the statements. They send them under JCP, but GEMB manages the accounts.

Its a ploy they use to pad bills.

Its also a violation of the Fair Credit Billing Act. www.ftc.gov for more info on Fair Credit Billing Act.

Forget trying to deal with GEMB - they will ignore your valid complaint.

File complaints with the Federal Trade Commission AND Office of Thrift Supervision.

YOU HAVE TO DO BOTH!

They cannot ignore the complaints received via the Office of Thrift Supervision and will resolve the issue quickly.

The FTC and OTS cannot enforce Federal Lending Laws with GEMB if no one reports their violations to them.
