Ordered furniture online from JCP with the understanding based on a website advertisement that I also got the deferred payment option for purchases over $299....I spent $800. Two weeks later when the credit card bill arrived it did not show the deferred billing.... after several phone calls and extreme wait times with GM Credit and JCPenney Customer Service I got the runaround that the deferred billing was for jewelry....furniture had to be for $1,000....I NEVER SAW ANYTHING ABOUT JEWELRY AND NOTHING ABOUT ANY KIND OF PROMOTION RELATED TO FURNITURE! This was after GMCredit reported that there were no promotions going on at that time, per JCP. I was baited and reneged on! I will never purchase another thing at JCP---ever!!!! I have never had this type of issue with any other retailer having used deferred billing on several purchases from several different stores. JCP will not have my business again.

Bought a recliner from JCPenney and it is faulty and they will not take it back
I purchased a recliner for my mother-in-law for Christmas. When we gave it to her she seemed to like it but the more she sat in it the more uncomfortable it became. You can feel the boards in the arms and footrest. As a matter of fact she has a sore on her arm from the chair. I called and want to return the chair and they informed me they have a no return policy. I would not have purchased the chair had I know this because it was a gift. They advised me it is on the reciept, which they hand you in a nice pamphlet so you can not see it. They should have advised me of the no return policy and also pointed it out on the reciept and sign it. I have called the store and the furniture store and was told a manager would call me back from both placed and that have been over 30 hours ago.

My husband bought me a braclet for Christmas, I had it for 3 wks., i could not wear it because the clasp would not stay closed so I tried to return along with my receipt, I had till 2/10/10 to do so., the lady would not take it back said it looked worn da ya think? How else would i have known the clasp was not working properly anyway their lost I closed my account with them and will never set foot in their store again.,I was a good customer even in these hard times I always paid on time oh and I cut up my jcp card right in front of the lady., she didn't even care they have *** poor attitudes beware if you buy from them and want to return it.

40 years as a customer. Furnishes a couple of houses over the years with merchandise from Penney's and was never, never late with a payment. My card is now in the safe and will not be used except twice a year to purchase a two dollar item. I will not continue to shop until rates ARE BELOW 15%. And at 15% these banking are still making enormous profits. I am also going to BLOG this info onto other sites about interest rate hikes....You should check out all the pissed off customers on the CITI bank BLOGS. Nuff said.
Jcpenney in Issaquah, Washington - Misled by sales rep, spent $300 on wrong product
Simply stated: My wife and I ordered blackout blinds for for our newborn's room, very clearly stating we needed blackout blinds. We purchased what the sales rep advised based upon our requests for $300. The order arrived, and the shades/blinds are the furthest thing from blackout than one could imagine. They allow in vast amounts of light. JC Penney insists it is my issue now, as they do not refund or fix special orders like this. I have sent them photos which clearly indicate the blinds do not block light, refusing to work with me. How is that we are being held responsible after making our request very clear, then going with the recommendation of the sales rep? If the reps don't know their products, or if their vendors misrepresent their product, we the customers should not be held accountable.
I'll just post the conversation to you... and you can get the drift. 57 year old daughter (me) and blind 88 year old father (my dad) who is 6'6" tall walk into JC Penney's. My father, who has a blind cane, and I approach a clerk in the Men's Wear...
