JCPenney Furniture SUCKS
I am writing in support of the products I have purchased at J.C.Penney throughout the years. I am 60+ years old and my mother is 80 years old, and we have never had this type of experience in dealing with Penney's.
I have indeed had problems with a few of the items I purchased there, but the store has always stood behind their (sales) deals. I don't believe we can expect things to be like they were when we were younger. After all, almost everything we buy now is made out of this country and good workmanship isn't always a foreign manufacturer's main concern.
I must say, however, that never has the management at J.C.Penney ever turned their backs on any of the sales that they made to me or my family and friends. I hate that it happened to you, but believe a manager could have rectified the situation.
J.C. Penney ripped me off!
Manager's Attitude
We purchased a extended warranty & we were told it covers all mechanism, parts, labor, tears, stains & sratchs on are 2-recliner leather sofa,
2-recliner love seat & are single recliner! But, after we called to file a claim because are handle on are sofa's recliner would not open or recline (it looks in perfect condition but don't work) J.C.
Penny Customer Care Supervisor told me we don't have any extended coverage on any mechanism or parts only on scratches, tears & stains & this supervisor told me to call the store we purchased the furniture at and discuss my warranty I bought with them! The sales people are "BIG FAT LIERS" & "YOU MUST READ ALL THE FINE PRINT BEFORE YOU SIGN YOUR PURCHASE"!
DON'T BUY FROM JC PENNY IT'S JUNK & THEY LIE & BECAUSE THEY DON'T: "SAY WHAT THEY MEAN" & "MEAN WHAT THEY SAY"! GO SHOP SOMEWHERE THAT STANDS BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY THAT THEY SAY THERE SELLING YOU & THAT STANDS BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT TOO!

First off the department did not steal your money, if anyone did it was the company. Second, try contacting someone besides the truck company to find out what happened before complaining about it.
Yes they should have let you know if it was cancelled, I've gone through this myself waiting over a month to finally get the merchandise but I did get it. If they cancelled your order it wouldn't have been sent out which means they wouldn't have charged your card (Making an assumption you used a card since just shipping was $274).
Yes you received a receipt but that's just to show you ordered it. I would suggest you buy items in stores from now on seems like this was a little too much for you to handle.

I find your response harsh. Also, if I knew where you worked, I would boycott your business for the rest of my life. So, the message I am sending out is this: don't be harsh and not practical.
It sounds like the people should have invested in accident insurance supplement program. Those programs pay for all bills until the person is recovered fully.
As far a credit card is concerned, the card issuer has the right to take the card back at ANY TIME.
I hate this for you like many Americans you only did what you had to do. I truly hope you can get your card back but if not let this be a lesson to you and everyone else. I am never giving this company a penney of my business for the rest of my life and you need to do the same.
