JC PENNEY'S HAS LOST MY BUSINESS

Due to GE Money Bank deciding to lower my credit limit on my JC Penney's credit card which I have had for over 10 years and never paid late, I will NEVER shop at Penney's again. I realize Penney's didn't make this decision and that's what it states in the letter, but they also didn't change credit management companies and allowed GE Money Bank to lower my limit, so ultimately they are the ones who are going to lose my business. I received the letter lowering my limit at the beginning of December just in time to ruin my holiday shopping, but that's okay. In the end, as the consumer, I am the one who decides how I react to this and other events that are happening in our economy today. I cut up my Penney's card and will never step foot in one of their stores again.

Company ADS AND THE ITEMS NOT IN STORE

FOR TWO WEEKS YOUR AD HAS HAD A WAFFLE IRON FOR $28.99 AND LAST WEEK I DROVE 30 MILES TO FIND OUT THERE WERE NONE. THIS WEEK I CALLED AND THEY SAID THEY HAVEN'T HAD ANY SENSE BLACK FRIDAY. I KNOW THIS AD IS A COUNTRY WIDE AD BUT EACH STORE SHOULD HAVE SOME OR THEY SHOULD GIVE A SPEICAL NUMBER TO TRY TO ORDER THE ITEM FROM CATALOG. YOUR CATALOG STILL SAYS THEY HAVE SOME BUT THEY ARE $79.00. I WILL NO LONGER BELIEVE YOUR ADS AND WILL LIMIT MY PENNY PURCHASE. THANKS FOR NOTHING! GOOD-BY

Why is a nine year old such as yourself driving anyway? Obviously you are too young to get a license, after all you can't spell "since" and "special" correctly so you must be nine years old or really ***.

The typing all in caps just tells us you are a little kid that "borrowed" their parents car. Like I said either you are a little kid or you are someone that is really ***.

JCPenney Fun Family Rewards is a scam

As of today JCPenney has lost me as a customer. I ordered online from JCPenney recently and somehow I enrolled in Fun Family Rewards, which started extracting $9.95 a month from my checking account. I tried to cancel my “Rewards” (Ha ha?) online but the “company” did not recognize my email and account name. I finally called Stonebridge Benefit Services and cancelled my account and supposedly I will have my $9.95 refunded. JCPenney should consider this a scam operation and disassociate itself from anything like Fun Family Rewards immediately. This is not an appropriate use for online retail service from JCPenney. I will spread the word to my friends about JCPenney’s practices and I will not shop at JCPenney’s stores.

What number did you call for stone bridge benefits?

#843129

This is DEFINITELY a SCAM! I have tried to go on my SUPPOSED account and it does not recognize my name or my email when I try to change my pass word.

I WANT ALL of my money to be refunded and I am going to give them *** and JC Penny! These firm is located somewhere in the hopeless state of TEXAS!

#473480

It isn't about phishing, at least not by Stonebridge. What it is about is using this bogus sweestakes/ reward bs to sell you their insurance.

Still, run the other way. Throw your cards in the trash and don't call them!

#473476

I don't know how JC Penney consented to this, but Stonebridge lifeis using this "rewards" along with their "sweepstakes" to generate leads and sell insurance. the whole thing is just a flimsy excuse to get you to buy their insurance.

It is the job of these agents to shove their insurance down your throats and get you to sign up. It is what they are paid to do.

the whole thing is a scam and JC Penney should not be used by such a dishonest company. -jmo :(

#456668

How do you guys know people account to do this

#356248

I had the same problem. JCP is giving SB people's personal and credit card information and may people are saving it was without their consent.

To make it worse, when I asked for proof we signed up for this, neither JCP or SB could prove I'd signed up or they had sent me any membership info or coupons. The SB site (once I found it) doesn't even have a phone number or email address. If you look up SB on the internet there are PAGES of people who say that their personal and credit card information was given to SB without permission. SB was extremely rude and refused to fully refund my money.

I wrote a review about the whole experience. If you look for my user name you can see it and read the full story.

#204732

actually, I just called penneys to see how I ha gotten inrolled and when the supervisor looked up my original order she said it DID NOT show that I had. Also, Penneys told me that they are "partnered" with this company and if Fun Family is a scam then it does have a LOT to say about Penneys business practices.

As for calling Stonebridge, the first representative hung up on me and the second said that it was basically my problem. She cancelled the mebership but would do nothing about a refund.

And just so you know, they do not have supervisors so forget getting anywhere with that. I stongly suggest calling Penneys and speaking to a supervisor there.

#175813

It might be unfortunate that JCPenney has associated with them, but it was you who signed up. They didn't scam you into it.

You should read offers more closely when you make orders instead of just clicking through to get your ten dollars off.

Then you won't "somehow" enroll in something you don't want.

This seems like a complaint that should be aimed at the Stonebridge people, as they're the ones in charge of cancelling your account and refunding your money.

#171028

This is either a phishing scam. There is no such rewards.

You were duped into someones scheme. Why does this have anything to do with your complaint here?

Learn to search the internets.

#99558

I hit by this recently. This is nothing more than a phishing scam.

I'm glad I caught it soon, they would have been dinging my account every month. They have lost another customer.

Penney's Credit Card. Interest charges.

I did not receive any bill in October. You charged me interest on the Nov bill. It was never received. I always pay my bills as soon as I receive them. Please check back on my credit card and you will find every bill has been paid as soon as received. It's only $1.00 interest but I am still annoyed. And I don't need 100 words to tell you this. It would be nice if you could implement some type of system that would automatically send out a second bill in case our lousy post office loses the mail. Rowena Naranjo johnandrowena@***.net

In response to the author above about the credit card statement, several things remain in tact. They are not required to send you a paper statement in the mail.

That statement is a courtesy reminder to pay your bill. You can go online and view your account.

If you know that you owe money on your account, pay it. Don't blame the company for your lack of common sense.

#67523

I hope that people will wise up and not use your credit cards and let the company get bit in the butt for it.Its just making serious stress conditions on the consumer and families too.

ITs hard but just say NO and cut the cards up ! Keep a major one and ditch the rest.Be responsible!

#46876

First off - its GE Money that handles the JC Penney accounts. They are responsible for not sending the statements. They send them under JCP, but GEMB manages the accounts.

Its a ploy they use to pad bills.

Its also a violation of the Fair Credit Billing Act. www.ftc.gov for more info on Fair Credit Billing Act.

Forget trying to deal with GEMB - they will ignore your valid complaint.

File complaints with the Federal Trade Commission AND Office of Thrift Supervision.

YOU HAVE TO DO BOTH!

They cannot ignore the complaints received via the Office of Thrift Supervision and will resolve the issue quickly.

The FTC and OTS cannot enforce Federal Lending Laws with GEMB if no one reports their violations to them.

Not Standing Behind Warranty

I am extremely disappointed in the Sealy Pillowtop Mattress which I purchased at the end of May, 2007, from JC Penney. I started noticing this problem in February, 2008 and called them. After several telephone calls, I was finally sent a form to fill out - a warranty form. I purchased one of the top of the line mattresses (or so I was told). One side of it has already got an indentation in it and when I sleep there, I wake up with a sore back. They sent "a technician" out to look at it and he told me that "these mattresses are famous for this problem". Last night, I got a telephone call from JC Penney's telling me that although the technician found an indentation, it is not substantial enough to warrant replacing. I have been a customer and credit card holder of JC Penneys since 1978. Not anymore. I paid off my account and am closing it.

The Mattress companies make all those decisions. This should be listed under sealy not jc penney.

Call sealy directly 1-800-MY-SEALY, don't trust penneys, call Sealy back and don't give in they will cave eventually.

Interest Rate Hike with Higher Min. Payments

I have had an account at JC Penney for many years. Today I received notice that they were increasing my interest rate, decreasing the time in which I can make payment after receiving the monthly bill and increasing the payment amount on my balance. All this is legal and with the economy what it is, I don't know if I will be able to maintain my credit worthyness with them. It amazes me that they can just change terms on my account like that and just expect me to do what they say. I know their earnings are down, but so are mine.....! Any advice or help out there?

Its not JC Penney - its GE Money that is doing this.

GE Money manages the JC Penney credit accounts.

Expect a drastic credit limit decrease as well - GEMB is cutting everyone's credit limit, even their best customers now only have a $100.00 limit.

File complaints with the Federal Trade Commission. GEMB needs to be investigated !

Complain to JCPENNEY too, however if you send an email to the website - they will just forward to GEMB, when it needs to be sent to JCP executives.

#43225

What a shame in this economy this company should understand and try to help it customers. I hope things work out for your family JCPenney needs to wise up and put its customers first.

#41859

You can reject the changes. This will result in you not being able to charge on the card anymore, but you will still have the old terms stay in effect.

So, your interest rate will stay the same, your payment due date will stay the same, and the minimum payments will remain the same.... and the plus of not being able to use the card is...

you can't use the card! This will reflect in your credit report as account closed by consumer, so it won't be dinged as creditor closing the account.

Purchased A watch-had to buy a additional watchband

I purchased a Bulova watch as a birthday gift. I paid $160 dollars for it from JC Penny store. The watchband was too tight so I brought back the watch. Another watchband had to be bought so an additional $20 was added to purchase. I believe the store could have taken the band back and exchanged it. No way, JC Penny was not helpful, totally not with it in Customer Service. I told them to keep the original band and give it to someone else with that size wrist. Customer service is not exisitence, and clerk all have too much time on their hands.

JCPenney's failed to up date my billing address

When we moved we up dated our billing addresses. For some reason JCPenney failed to up date that address and sent a bill to our old address. This ended with with the bill going to collection which was paid in full upon the first telephone call from the collection agency because we are responsible people who pay our debts! JCPenney's had no problem sending me adds and catalogs or sending me merchandise I purchased on line to my new address. I'm listed in the phone book I'm not hard to find. This $100.00 purchase should have never been sent to a collection agency. We had flawless credit and had one of the highest credit ratings possible do to years of maintaining outstanding consumer relations with the companies that we deal with. JCPenney ruined that standing by not taking the time to find out why we purchased thousands of dollars worth of merchandise at a Washington state store but failed to pay for $100.00 mirror whose bill was sent to Virginia! Doesn't that just scream that something is wrong with this picture? To top it off the GEMB Money bank who is the collection agency for JcPenney called and yelled at me and was extremely rude while I was in a panic thinking my identity had been stolen.

Kogie Ingersoll, hair stylist, Columbus GA

I first went to this "master cosmetologist" when she worked at JC Penney's in Columbus GA. She did my hair really well. She got her own shop and I followed her to get my hair done. I had long healthy hair at the time. She put in a perm which literally burned my scalp, did not have hot water to rinse my hair out. By the time she was done with my hair even she looked worried and said " I hope this doesn't come out". She never offered any corrective services. She charged full price. Sure enough my hair began to come out in clumps. This was the worst hair experience I have ever had. NEVER go to this woman to get your hair done. She is unethical and unprofessional. We ALL makes mistakes but she did not even offer to correct her obvious mistake and it ended up costing me my hair.

I recently had a terrible experience with JC Penney Custom Decorating. After spending $4K with a decorator, I have not spoken to her since the day we made the purchase.

She has not returned calls even though the shippment was late and incomplete. I am still waiting for the majority of the merchandise I purchased (along with repairs on one item that was already installed).

We spoke to her manager, whose response was "well, crazy things can happen in decorating. I've been in the field longer than you have, but you should know that crazy things happen when you go custom." I will never purchase anything from this store again.

I Fell & hit my head on a table and then on a cement floor at Jc Penney, Puyallup, Wa.

I fell on 2 chairs, they parted, hit my head on a table then on the cement floor, my but hit the floor before my head did on July2, 2008. Ambulance took me to the hospital, I went back to the same hospital 8 days later, then to my DR. who says I have a concussion. JC Penney's takes no responsibility, will pay no medical bills. I am on social security and cannot afford this, I believe I am entitled to my bills being paid, but AIG insurance has denied my claim for anything. If you are a senior citizen and disabled, do not fall at JC Penney's. This happened at South Hill in Puyallup, WA.

I was an installer for custom decorating for three years minus two weeks because after three years there is a company match for your retirement. I worked hard , most of the decorators liked me,as well the customers .

I trained two installers that were not really ready when I was let go,for not keeping up the proposed quota.

You can not hit the mark if the mark is not there.I feal that I was treated very unfairly.

#85030

The chairs were not where they were supposed to be. The area was so crowded with tables and chairs so close together.

I could not help but fall. there was no room to move easily in the shoe department. I fell because the heel of my sandal hit one of the out of place chairs, not because I was fainting or anything like that. I still suffer from falling.

I am not the same person as I was before the fall. Not at All!!

#52636

If the reason you fell was their fault, then they should have to pay. But if you just lost your balance and fell, they cannot be responsible for that.

I could understand if the floor was wet.

You make no reference here as to why you fell. So I cannot support your complaint.

We bought a sofa on 2/23/08 and hoped to have it on the date of our daughter's graduation party. They've charged us for the deposit and the initial delivery was 8-10 weeks but now 4 months have past and every time We call them they promise a new date but never deliver. If they don't have the items in stock why they promise to the customers? We rather buy elsewhere in the future even it's more expensive. They don't take responsibility and they don't treat customer satisfaction. Never and never JCpenny.
