I ordered a ring and got in two weeks, after I got the ring, the wrong stone was placed in the ring, returned to customer services and asked them to put new stone and ring and return to me. Called on 4/14 and was told I would have the ring by 4/22 and when I called to check the order status on 4/21, they returned the ring. was told I would need to order a whole new ring and would take another 3 weeks to get and needless to say, I did not reorder. Terrible customer service!

I USED to love buying jewelry at JCP until I encountered a problem buying this item online. I purchased this item as a gift on 4/11 and today is 4/20 any item hasnt been shipped yet! I've purchased hundreds of items online and Im used to getting them no later than a week, but after purchasing this item, I was notified that it wouldnt shipped until 9 days later 4/19, which made me a little worried because the gift wouldnt arrive in time for this special occasion. So on 4/13 I decided to call customer service and cancel my order, but was told that I couldnt because the item was at the manufacturer. So on 4/19, I decided to track my order, it still hadnt shipped, liked promised. So on 4/20 I called customer service again, wondering why come my item hasnt shipped yet, the lady said that she couldnt give me an answer to why the item hasnt shipped, so I told her, how un happy I was and I would appreciate it if she could cancel my order because I no longer want the item because the item is taking too long to ship. She told me that she couldnt cancel my order, but if I called back tomorrow and if it hadnt shipped yet, then they would be able to cancel my order. Ok, now Im really upset because she couldnt resolve the issue nor did her response sound promising and now I've gotten two different stories about why I couldnt cancel my order. And if that was really the case, when she looked my order up in the computer and seen that the item was not shipped yet, she couldve cancelled the order then. As much as I love shopping at JCP, I am quite positive I will not be giving this company another dime! And hopefully a representative can help me change my mind about this company and find a better way to provide customer service or at least, make this customer happy and feel confident about spending my money here!

I used to be a jewlery supervisor for a JCP store call and ask to speak to a supervisor and see if they can fix it for you if they cannot write or call their coprate office and they should be able to get it resolved

I used to shop at pennys and i went back to get the same clothes I liked. Looked at the tags and sizes before going and when i bought the same type - same sizes they didn't fit.

They said the new lines are slimmer so I needed to go a size larger. So I went a size larger. The neck was larger but still about right - stomach area was huge, could get two of me in there, sleeves were so tight on my forearms which are not that large they can't be rolled up. Returned all the shirts and gave up shopping there.

To much work to try on different sizes for hours and running back and forth to the store. I'm sure they probably switches to some cheaper factory like alot of the other places have.

Did you try to work out a payment plan w/ GE Bank? I was able to work out a payment plan when I was out of work.

Or you can return some of your purchases if you have the receipts, its unused and its within 90 days. Otherwise, the responsibility is yours.

Can't believe that a reputable firm like JC Penny would engage in this credit card scam. They have lost me as a customer until such time as they contact me to return the balance of the ill-gotten proceeds that I've lost. It's a pety amount, but I'm still pissed, even after successfully stopping this "benefit" with a call to the Credit Card Company. Managed to get a credit for only 4 of 13 months charged. "Family Fun Rewards" has got to be more expensive for JC Penny's return business that the short term ripoff that's getting famous on-line- just Google it. From now on I'll stick with LL Bean!

It amazes me how many people call my office about the membership and/or insurances that are charged to their accounts. If they would just read their statements every month like is the responsible thing to do to make sure that everything is ok, they would save themselves a lot or headache. Also most of the time that you see this is because YOU probably made the purchase of the service even if you dont realize it.

JC Penney/GE Money are extortionists!!!!!

My wife made a purchase from JC Penney in May 2010, and we paid it off in June. No activity until she used her card again in August to make a $17 purchase. We did not receive a statement until November, which by then had an interest charge and TWO late charges. I called Penney's and talked to someone in Bangladesh or whatever, and was told that they would remove ONE of the late charges. I said I was sending them a payment for the $17 purchase and that any subsequent charges are THEIR problem, as they did not see fit to send me a bill in a timely fashion. I told them we'd had a Penney's card for 30 years, but if they wanted to do business that way, to cancel the card. Well, they cancelled the card, but continue to send a statement each month, adding interest and a late charge each time. The balance on the statement I got today, for an initial purchase of $17, is now $148.43. This sure looks like extortion to me. So, while it's fun to vent on this forum, what I want to know is: Who do we report criminally predatory practices to? Surely there is some regulatory agency under whose purview this falls. Surely some congressman somewhere wants to curry favor with the electorate by smashing some abusive financial company. GE Money thinks they can influence me with the threat of damaging my credit. Hah!!! I've got more credit than I know what to do with, and will gladly put a letter in my credit report file explaining why *** will freeze over before GE Money gets another cent from me. I'm very upset on how the company treats you unfair. The company impose late fees on your account even of you fall into a hardship.

They do not care of your situation or your concerns. This is the worst company to get a credit card from. I'm disable in lose my job due to this and never been late on my account until now. In they don't have no payment plan to help me I been calling for 2 months trying to close my account.

In they keep telling me to call back every 7-10 days in I have been still NO HELP here really bad company. They not trying to help me but just billing me more late fees.

but thats not what happend. They put it towards my november statement and then sent me my January statement saying I never paid them for December. it was due December 12 I paid them Dec 10th. I was told I was being punished for paying it 2 days early.

the woman I spoke with was rude only deducted $12.00. I asked for her manager she kept trying to give me the run around ignoring my request for a good 15 min. then transfered me. the manager was even worse, but after a hour of debate he finaly took all charches off account, said my APR would not go up and I only owed Minimum payment for January statement.

If this Continues I do plan on Calling the Department of Consumer affairs, the FBI, Tressury Department, Trade Commission or who ever else will listen to me Because I'm sure if they are doing this on purpouse it is considered Extortion, theft by trick or device and maybe some others I'm not aware of but there is also commiting crimes over state and international lines regaurdless if they are in another country and are contracted out by GEMoney.

I just might let them extort at least $500.00 for me so it will be a Fellony for the Athourities to act on rather than debate my bill everymonth. LOL Good Luck every one, I'm only 5 grand in the hole with them and hope to have it paid off in a few months when i sell one of my classic cars.

I pay my statement online. Well I paid on the day the statement date and they applied it to the previous statement and gave me a late charge.

I got punished for paying too quickly. I complained and they agreed to remove the late charge. I just looked at my account and the did it again. August 12th statement due Sept.

4 paid online August 12th and a late charge September 4th. I called and the agreed to remove it again. When they statement shows online I will wait a few days and pay it off.

I will never deal with GE money again. What the ***!

I had the same experience with JCPenny Card.

I always paid my card balance in full and on time with Credit score around 800.

We made a $20 purchase in March.

We did not receive statement until the end of May. We talked to JCPenny and the person removed one late charge and my husband paid off the bill and canceled the card.

Unbelievable that they can raise their APR 26.99%!!! Especially at this time when there are so many people without jobs and supposedly the Un-Employment rate supposedly dropping while banks are getting tighter. It is time to say good-bye to this racket!I guess I should have paid better attention cause this rate happened last Sept-Oct 2010! Shame on me. I work at a Jcpenney in WV. All Jcpenney cares about is that the employees get credit applications.

Jcpenney gets kick backs from GE capital for every credit application taken. Employee's are so desperate to get them, they let customer have 5 card, and the managers are ok with that. If we don't get the quota, we are sent home for the day, and are told we are bad employees. Jcpenney's says customer service is important, that's ***!

If it was so important, they would have enough employee's staffed to provide good customer service. It's all about the almighty dollar plain and simple it's not what is good for the customer, or employee.

Managers treat you like *** and could care less about you. Since they officially made me into s full time student AND worker being that I have to work almost 40 hours a week I may soon be quiting. The in store associates are just as bad if NOT worse, they are RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL and treat customers like ***! I have been in my local store a few times, once my hubby was trying to buy some jeans and the OLD HAG at the register was on the phone with her doctor's office telling them all her medical problems, she did not have time to wait on us so being the ONLY customers in the entire store, we left went to Macy's!

The next time was today I was in the store and behind ONE customer who was being rung up by some old *** with an attitude, and a young girl came up behind the *** on the cash register with 2 old people and I was next in line, the Old *** waiting on the woman in front of me LEFT, she NEVER even looked at me!

the young girl stared waiting on the Old couple SHE brought up and I was standing there looking like a fool! So I threw the merchandise down and told them to GO TO ***! I said, This is the ABSOLUTE WORST STORE I HAVE EVER BEEN IN and don't worry I will NEVER waste my MONEY on this TRASH EVER AGAIN! *** YOU JC PENNY!

There are no words nor emoticons to describe the disgraceful customer service and website of JC Penney. The pages would fill an entire encyclopedia.

Have been in contact with them via phone and e-mail for 4 days straight. It's a full-time job already. Can't get a simple, one-item order correct!! Website messed up address info and now has locked me out for serveral days.

Workers and supervisors give empty promises. One person helped, but I'm holding my breath to see the actual outcome, plus I can't see much info on website and with holiday rush, order is now slightly delayed.

Yes, shame on them for giving you notice that they were raising your rate, then raising your rate. No one is making you use the card, and no one is making you keep a balance on the card.

Pay it off and close it. Besides, the card company is GE credit, direct your complaints to them.

I've had my ring resized three times in a row, everytime they resize it, it does not fit even with my ring size being the same that they measured EACH TIME. Now they are going out of business and im fuckign pissed with a waste of miney.

JCP fallen low on customer service, merchandise quality

A zero. If you deal with JCPenney long enough, you clearly will see the incompetence shine through. The catalog ordering system has become an ultimate, flat zero. From incorrectly filled orders, to cheaply-made imports, to exceptionally poor customer service. The associates there no longer care. It is no wonder that the catalog/online ordering is in such financial shambles. We often will place an order and receive an order confirmation that the merchandise is in stock. Then, we later will check the status of our order by logging onto the JCP system only to find that much of our merchandise has been removed from the orders -- without notification. Even worse, we have logged on to find that our merchandise total has been increased without notification. Even further, some of our orders have vanished into thin air never to be heard about again. And when you receive email communication from the company, well, they associates won't even sign their names! Messages from JCP just say "Cordially, JCP Customer Care." What? Customer care? Right. So what is up with all of the JCP online confusion and lack of respect for the customer? It is clear that the customer is not valued. And the merchandise quality has fallen drastically over the past few years. Cheap imports fill most orders, particularly the home decor, home furnishing, and furniture. And just try to contact JCP customer service. A "headache" doesn't even being to describe the feeling of trying to find out why. Why your orders disappeared, why your order history has changed, why your order total was increased, why merchandise suddenly is out of stock after waiting for weeks, why they send emails that make absolutely are contradictory and make no sense, why they can't fix the gliches in their checkout system, why they simply cannot contact you when they decide to make drastic changes to your orders ... Just getting them to admit that they have erred is an impossible feat, so we ultimately will just stop trying. I have shopped at JCP for about 25 years, but the end is quite near. The value received per dollar is null, and the headache of ordering is tremendous.

I agree with you totally. I placed an order with a $10 off a $25 purchase coupon & the discount vanished when one item was out of stock.

They immediately offered to refund shipping and then after I lashed out at time consuming phone survey they offered me an additional $15 certificate.

I get the certificate but am yet to hear anything about a shipping refund. Since shipping was free earlier this year...I really feel that I haven't gained anything from all this except a new appreciation of the bait and switch tactics of JCP.
