Never get a JCpenny Credit Card! Big Rip OFF.

My husband received a credit limit of $500 and purchased some items and pay on time and kept a $0 balance. Within 5months later they submitted a credit check and tell him they decreased is credit limit to $200 because of credit score. How can that be if you ran the credit check to approve him of $500. They do this just to get you to get a credit card with them, then reduce it. Then refuses to increase the limit once they decrease it. So please read your fine print for periodically credit check that they do. This affect your credit record. They are the worst department store to get a credit card with. Macy or Dillard etc.. department stores has never has such rules to apply to their credit card. I don't think this is a lawful rule, but I advise not to accept a credit card with JCPenny. If you have one already please, please pay it off and close your account before they make up more unlawful rules that can affect your credit score. They surely need to be investigated by the government and need to be exposed to public. Please pass the words to friend and family.

Incompetent payment practices

I know no one at jcpenneys gives a hoot but I need to vent. I placed an order on 12/12/15 for several items totaling $200. I paid through my bank account which had adequate funds to pay for the amount. The problem is that I have an automatic mortgage payment that was due to come out of my bank one week later that was going to cause an overdraft but I was prepared to suffer the overdraft fee, hey it's christmas. The problem is that instead of taking my payment the day I made it, jcpenneys decide to take multiple payments only at the time of shipment. Due to this *** policy, my mortgage payment came out way before they decided to actually ship and charge me for my purchases and now I have 4 overdraft charges and they are withholding the shipment of gifts I purchased due to "problems with my payment". So now I have to pay $120 in overdraft fees for a $30 item that I will not receive in time for Christmas. Thanks a lot jcpenneys. Not that you care, but you have lost a loyal customer for life and I will make sure I tell everyone to avoid shopping online at your website.

Sorry but I can't see how this is Penney's problem. The issue is that you purchased items with money you didn't have.

Your nonchalant attitude about overdraft fees "oh well....it's Christmas" shows that you are not fiscally responsible. When you take chances with payments like you did sometime you win and sometimes you lose. You have to be prepared for the outcome when you choose to live this way.

That being said, I hope you were still able to have a great Xmas. It is about friends and family, not about the gifts anyway.

Worst customer service ever. Placed an online order and it said that it was supposed to be delivered in 4-7 business days. After 13 days of not getting an update on my purchase I called their 1-800 number and asked for a refund. The customer service representative said that it was delivered to my local store and there was nothing else she could do because they had done their part. I called back and spoke to a different representative who told me that my package had not even shipped yet. I had to force them to give me a refund. I never got an I'm sorry about anything. Just excuse after excuse and blame it on the holiday season. Will never go back to jcpenny or shop on their website again.

I am in the same situation right now. My order was placed on November 30th and I havent received anything and not even a SORRY.

They are transferring me to one person to the other.

I have guests coming for christmas and nowhere for them to sit. Its ridiculous and they have already charged and taken the money for the product and shipping.

Not sure if you work for JCP, but this information is WRONG. They absolutely DO bill for items before they ship. I submitted my order over a week ago and they charged my CC right away but the items just shipped.

It is UPS not JCPenney that is shipping your package, they recycle tracking numbers will show correct information once UPS scans package

Still waiting for my "3 day" delivery 11 days later

Ordered 2 pair of boots online on 11/27,paid for 3 day delivery. Ordered from 4 other retailers as well with free delivery. Every other retailer delivered within 3 days and shipping was FREE. When I received an email that my order was on its way on 11/30, I checked the tracking and it said it was sent to shipping company that day. I checked the next day and the status was unchanged, as well as the following day. I called Customer Sevice and was told the post office should deliver it "today or Monday". I asked why I paid for UPS if the post office was delivering it. The rep said if you dont pay for shipping thats how it comes. I told her I paid for shipping and she backtracked and said it was probably delayed by UPS then. I called UPS who said they never received my packages until November 3 even though JCPenneys is saying they were given to UPS on 11/30. They jut plain lied and then tried to blame UPS. So here I sit on December 7 still waiting for my 3 day delivery. What started this mess is that when I went to return clothing my mom couldnt wear, not one of the 3 girls working that day knew how to return my money and since I waited 43 minutes and no manager could be found, I reluctantly said just give me a giftcard since I had to get to work. NEVER AGAIN will I shop at Penneys.

I'm having a similar problem. I placed my order on 11-30-15.

I received an email from JCPenny with tracking info. My tracking info said it was delivered to me in June of 2014! When I call customer service (3 times now) they are the most rude unprofessional people I have ever had to deal with. They told me it is UPS 's fault and that my order will arrive .

But they can't track it. They can't refund my money. And they will not send me an email documenting what they are telling me. When I ask for a supervisor they said "why"?

I told them they ere not helpful and very rude. She argued with me saying Im the rude one. I felt like I was in JR High arguing with a kid.

I can only assume JCPenny is about to close their doors.. How can they stay in business operating like this.

So apparently JCPenny's is the most incompetent place in the world. Which is amazing considering the existence of Washington DC. Last week, my parents placed an order for a package that they were giving as a gift on Christmas Eve. It was supposed to arrive yesterday as they purchased 3-Day shipping. They got an email confirming the order and a tracking number. My mom calls today inquiring about said package. Only, she finds out that they "couldn't fulfill the order" and didn't bother to tell us. They said that the warehouse can't contact people about what is going on with the item. NO ONE BOTHERED TO TELL US UNTIL TONIGHT...THE DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS. I'm telling everyone...DO NOT ORDER FROM JCPENNY. YOU'LL REGRET IT.

We just went to JC Penneys today and this girl named Tina run us out on a register and after we got to the paying part of it the receipt wouldn't print so they restarted the computer because the printer froze and we went over to another register. After we slid our card a second time they checked to see if the transaction went through twice through their customer service payment on the telephone and by some coincidence it did so they cancelled the whole order both transactions. Now we wantrd to to repurchase the pants over again and they said that we couldn't do it because it was a different persons card and the name on the driver's license to verify the card was different. This has never happened before. Tina who was ribgibg the pair of pants talked to an older woman I forgot the woman's name and said well there's been problems with the computer the first computer she used all day why the devil would she use a defective computer if you knew it was giving her problems all day. If I knew that was happening I wouldnt ring up a customer on the defective computer that may or may not work I would have run out on the other computer that she tried the second time. Not letting us go through all the hassle of having the recipient of the cardholder come in and buy the pants because the person who wabted it originally couldn't but it because it's not under their name because of thebsilly girl couldn't be bothered to check it out on a computer that wasn't effective. If this happens again we're going to complain again. It shouldn't take this much hassle. Next time have your employees check better next time too to see if all there electronics work before they check someone out or realize if it doesn't work just go somewhere else to check it out instead of putting a customer at through hassle and getting them all frustrated.

I made a purchase online for a couple of very special people that deserve a great Christmas gift. The order was processed and paid for, and I received notice that the package was sipped from the facility, and had a UPS tracking number. I tracked it closely, and four days later, the package hadn't moved locations. Then the money was reimbursed to my bank account without any acknowledgement from the company. I called customer service, and when I was finally connected, I was told that the bx had been shipped without the items inside of it. I attempted to have the item reordered, but the arrival date would be "sometime before the new year". So now, with 15 days left, I must attempt to find another "perfect gift" for the people I love.

I frequent the store in Peabody mass and the employees are very disrespectful they do not help walk away while lines and managers only seem to care that employees get customers to get your credit card. This holds up lines and slows down. I always liked to shop at the store but lately all employees seem to care is me open a card. They do not help find things or smile or greet customers.
