JCPenney - J C Penney's policy on counterfeit money
I have a friend who works at J C Penney. Their manager will NOT get anything to help detect counterfeit money, such as a pen.
When they take what looks like very real money in and it turns out to be counterfeit, the employee is required to pay what was lost by the company, or they are threatened with termination. I think the management should shoulder the responsibility as they do not provide the tools necessary to help thwart it and will not let the employee buy something, either. This is apparently corporate policy. I do not purchase things there because their prices are sky high and certainly will not now.
One of the employees other than my friend had to pay a couple hundred dollars as she took in 100's that appeared to be real.
My friend had to pay $50.00.
Reason of review: policy on counterfeit money.
JCPenney Cons: Policy on counterfeit money.
Location: The Colony, Texas

That's ***. I work at JCP, and employees are not responsible for counterfeit money. We do have a pen that we use to detect counterfeit bills....
